Mandatory TGCA Show Rules

The Texas Gun Collectors Association is a member of the National Association of Arms Shows. The rules presented here represent the standard with which all members of the Association comply. Adhering to these rules is for the good of all.

  1. All Exhibitors are required to sign the front of this form, which represents a contract, which includes the requirement for compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and these Show Rules.
  2. TGCA shall make available to all exhibitors any information provided by ATF or state or local law enforcement agencies relating to applicable laws, including ATF “Notice to Dealers” and ATF guidelines.
  3. No loaded firearms, magazines or clips will be permitted in any TGCA show at any time by anyone other than uniformed law enforcement personnel. This applies to everybody including CHL or LTC or CCW holders from any state.
  4. All exhibitors’ cartridge firearms except those which are disassembled, in a glass covered display case or entered into the competitive displays must be checked, cleared and secured with a cable/zip tie by the dealer/exhibitor before placing them on display or for trade at the show.
  5. All cartridge firearms brought to a TGCA show by members of the public shall be checked, cleared and tied in an inoperable condition prior to being brought into the show.
  6. No loose ammunition will be allowed at any TGCA gun-show or meeting. All ammunition must be in a sealed container or under cover (i.e. glass covered display case). Collector cartridges may be exempted by the Show Chairman or an Officer of the TGCA Board of Directors.
  7. No personal alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the gun room during show hours. No exceptions.
  8. ONLY “Service Animals”, as defined by Texas Statute, are allowed inside at any TGCA Show. All “Service Animals” must be so identified and kept constrained behind exhibitors’ tables, preferably in a travel carrier or crate.
  9. The following items are prohibited from TGCA shows. Stamps, coins, jewelry, clothing, modern machine guns, Nazi items, blowguns, and items of current manufacture unrelated to antique or vintage collectible weapons. Any other item(s) deemed unacceptable by two or more Officers of the Board of Directors. NO MODERN GUNS ALLOWED, ONLY C&R OR EARLIER ALLOWED.
  10. Young people, 12 years old and older, are welcome at TGCA shows when accompanied and supervised by an adult. The # 1 rule for the young folks is “Hands off. Ask before you touch”.
  11. The Sergeant at Arms or Show Chairman may order any member or individual who violates any of these safety rules to immediately remove their property from the premises.
